The archive
Small Heath is an independent archive devoted to restoring, documenting and sharing knowledge about BSA’s girder-fork heavyweight M-series motorcycles.
The archive combines surviving machines, original details, restoration discoveries, workshop solutions and historical research. Its purpose is practical: to retain the visual and mechanical evidence found on each motorcycle, while making that material useful to owners, restorers and historians.
Uncertain conclusions are presented as theories. Specifications and historical claims are not added without a source. Patina, non-standard components and incomplete projects remain part of the record rather than being edited out of the story.
